Autoimmune Molecule Explained

ABOUT

Hypochlorous acid (HOCI) is a very potent broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent. It is produced by the body’s white blood cells as part of the innate defence against microbial pathogens through phagocytosis and oxidative burst with no-to-low potential for resistance.

THE MANUFACTURING EVOLUTION OF HYPOCHLOROUS ACID

  • 1st GENERATION – 100 years ago, Henry Dakin Acidified Bleach: More hypochlorous acid released
  • 2nd GENERATION – ANOLYTE. 1980’s, a mixture containing approximately 70% hypochlorous. Anolyte always also contains salt, hypochlorous acid and bleach (NaOCI) which makes it less suitable for wound care
  • 3rd GENERATION – HYDROLIDE hypochlorous acid. NO SODIUM (Na+) in the solution. The only solution only contains stable hypochlorous acid and water.
